Festivals are ephemeral, catalytic cultural centers of production, their importance in fostering creative industries, usually unrecognized.Countries like Morocco however place great importance on the role they play. AfroCyberPunk reports on the recently concluded Chale Wote Street Art Festival:
The festival has been held every year since 2011 and is essentially an arts workshop that turns an entire street in Jamestown, Accra into an open-ended canvas for artists of all types to leave their mark on the city. And for a couple of days each year, that winding stretch of urban terrain truly feels as if it's been reclaimed by "the people."
