The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) published in October 2014 a 12 page study titled "Why Strategic Foresight Matters for Africa" by Julia Schunemann, who leads the African Futures Project at ISS. She concludes that African countries must think more systematically about long-term trends and plan for the future if they are to take advantage of opportunities arising from economic growth.
