Lights, Camera, Africa!!! Festival - The Life House, Lagos

Aissa's Story screened in The Life House's Lights, Camera Africa!!! Festival in Lagos that ran from September 26 - October 1.

I had a great time and met some amazing people--while getting to see Biyi Bandele's Half of a Yellow Sun, The Supreme Price documentary about late Chief M.K.O. Abiola and the pro-democracy movement, and the Lagos premiere of Kunle Afolayan's October 1, a psychological thriller set against the backdrop of Nigeria's 1960 independence.

Then of course was the J.D. Okhai Ojeikere documentary, directed by Tam Fiofori. I must say it's boring as hell, but Fiofori achieved his aim of letting the late master tell his story in his own words. My favorite quote: "I never thought I would be a photographer. But at the appropriate time, someone told me to buy a camera."
