Decades of conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have resulted in scant investment in healthcare, leaving the country vulnerable to outbreaks of disease. Following an epidemic of measles last year, Mèdecins sans Frontiéres took its vaccination campaign to villages in the eastern provinces, many of which can only be reached on foot
